Coostie Illustration

I'm Ali Edwards, an illustrator and designer living in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland.

I'm a self-taught illustrator with a particular fondness for pen and watercolour, as well as coloured pencil. My style is generally illustrative with lots of detailed line work; depending on the project, I will add colour through hand- or digital-painting, either in modern splashes of colour, or in realistic tones and hues.

I illustrate a range of subjects in ink and sometimes watercolour, including local wildlife, landmarks, the changing seasons and even my kitchen garden, for use on products, packaging, editorial, branding – you name it!

What is a ‘coostie’?

Coostie (adj) A dialect word of north Northumberland meaning ‘good’ or ‘great’

I want my creative business to be as ‘good’ as it can be. Sustainability is very important to me and I only work with suppliers who have a transparent supply chain and strong ethics. If you purchase artwork or a gift from me, you can be confident that it was made in the most environmentally-friendly way possible and that it will be sent to you with minimal packaging. A percentage of my profits will always go to support local charitable causes.
